Everything You Need to Know about the MSC Seashore

As much as you love your job, family, and hobbies, things have been feeling a bit stagnant lately. You need a change of scenery…

But you definitely want that change to be relaxing.

So a cruise is calling your name: wind in your hair, drink in hand, and nothing but miles and miles of blue-green ocean in front of you.

Well, we have some good news for you. The MSC Seashore is docked right in your backyard at the Port of Miami and it’s equipped with plenty of entertainment options to keep you relaxed and having fun.

Ready to “seas” the day and get cruising? Keep reading to learn all about the MSC Seashore, including the features that make it unique from other MSC ships, its amenities, and how to book your next trip.

Set Sail on the MSC Seashore

If you’re going to go on a cruise, why not go big?

The MSC Seashore is the longest ship in the MSC fleet, with three acres of outdoor space and 200 more passenger cabins than its sister ships. The ship cost $1B to build and was named by Italian actress Sophia Loren.

Upon entering the ship, you’ll quickly notice its New York City theme. Many of the restaurants and bars on the ship harken back to the Big Apple. There’s even a replica of the Statue of Liberty in the center of the cruise’s casino.

And you can rest easy knowing that MSC has made efforts to minimize the negative environmental impacts of the MSC Seashore. This includes significantly reducing sulphur oxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, as well as increasing energy efficiency.

When it’s not sailing across the deep blue sea, the MSC Seashore is docked in the U.S., specifically the Port of Miami.

Things to Do on the MSC Seashore

There’s plenty to keep you entertained during your cruise on the MSC Seashore. While you make your way through the Bahamas and Caribbean, you’ll have numerous opportunities to enjoy the ship’s many restaurants, bars, and entertainment options.

Entertainment

For those traveling with a family, there are a variety of ways for your children to release some of their pent-up energy. Enjoy a visit to the infinity pool and embrace the feeling of being on the edge of the world and one with the ocean.

Or take a visit to the ship’s aquapark, complete with an epic water slide and a variety of other water features. Kids of all ages can also enjoy the ship’s various kids clubs, featuring different attractions by age range.

But don’t be alarmed by all this “family-friendly talk” if what you really want is an opportunity to get away from it all, even if only for an hour or two. There are plenty of adult-centric entertainment options on the boat, too!

Spend some time exploring the art located all around the ship or head to an immersive cinematic experience at the ship’s theatre. And if you’ve had enough culture, try your luck at the ship’s casino.

Then, get some shopping done at the retail center named after Times Square. While you’re enjoying some retail therapy, make sure to take a look around and check out the Manhattan Skyline that’s projected on one of the ship’s walls.

Finally, sit back and relax at the boat’s spa, where you can choose from a variety of activities, including basking in the sauna, getting pampered at the nail salon, or lifting weights at the gym.

Restaurants and Bars

You didn’t think you’d embark on an oceanside adventure without plenty of seafood options, did you?

The MSC Seashore has numerous restaurants aboard, many of which serve a variety of seafood. If you’re in the mood for fish of a raw persuasion, head over to the Kaito Sushi Bar. This restaurant features a sushi conveyor belt so you can pick and choose from a variety of rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.

Ocean Cay is another specialty seafood restaurant located on the ship, perfect if you prefer your seafood well-done.

And you can also enjoy a variety of other cuisine options, including the Butcher’s Cut al Fresco which is an aptly-named steakhouse, or the Central Park Restaurant which exemplifies the ship’s New York City theme.

Once you’ve had your fill of food for the day, enjoy visiting the ship’s wide variety of bars, many of which feature live music. And for those with a sweet tooth, you won’t want to miss taking a trip (or three) to the ice cream bar!

Visit MSC Marine Reserve

You can choose from a variety of destinations when identifying which cruise you’d like to take aboard the MSC Seashore.

And one such stop just happens to be MSC’s exclusive private island in the Bahamas: Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. If you’re up for it, you can even select a cruise that offers overnight stays on the island.

With two miles of beaches that only MSC cruisers can use, you’re bound to feel a sense of relaxation as you gaze off into crystal clear waters. In addition to sunbathing and swimming, you can go snorkeling, paddle boarding, and jet skiing in the surrounding waters.

When you get hungry (or thirsty!) saunter over to the island’s food trucks and bars. And as the sun begins to set, enjoy the light show that comes from the island’s lighthouse.

How to Book a Cruise on the MSC Seashore

Booking a cruise on the new MSC Seashore is as straightforward as visiting the MSC Cruise line website and reviewing the various itineraries. The ship’s cruises depart from the Port of Miami and travelers can choose between a variety of Caribbean and Bahamas tours, from shorter five-night cruises to lengthier 12-day adventures.

When you choose your cruise, take note of the various tour stops to see what best suits your nautical fancy. For example, the MSC Seashore’s 15-day tour makes stops in Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic — all in one tour!
